Queer Person of Color (QPOC), may also have the added "T" in Queer and Trans Person of Color (QTPOC), is a term used to describe a queer individual is also non-White.[1][2] The acronym includes Black individuals, Asian individuals, Brown individuals and Indigenous individuals, and also includes those who are multiracial, as long as someone isn't only White.[3]
History
The terms QPOC and QTPOC were developed to discuss issues queer individuals of color face.[2]
Flags & Symbols
The QPOC flag was designed by Tumblr user queerwitchqueenofcolor on March 29, 2016.[4] It was flown in the 2019 San Francisco Pride celebration.[5]
The TPOC flag was created by Tumblr user space-catboy, inspired by the flag made by queerwitchqueenofcolor.[6]

Statistics
Around 42% of queer individuals in the United States are also individuals of color.[3]
Perceptions and Discrimination
Those who are queer and POC are more likely to experience microaggressions than those who are single-minority. They are less likely to be out to their families, are more likely to be depressed, and have a higher risk of STIs. They may experience racism from others in the LGBTQ+ community and homophobia from their racial communities.[3]
