Skyeromantic is a romantic orientation that describes someone who is unable to experience romantic attraction towards those they have already formed a non-romantic bond with.[1][2] They may still be able to feel attraction to those they have a bond with if the attraction was already felt before their bond was formed.[2]
It is an orientation on the aromantic spectrum.[2]
History
The term was coined under the umbrella of skye a-spec by FANDOM user Humorousgayclown on September 17, 2021. It was coined via its page on the LGBTA Wiki.[3]
Flags & Symbols
The skyeromantic flag was created by DeviantArt user Angelsstarartstuff on March 31, 2026. It takes the first four stripes of the general skye a-spec flag and shifts the bottom three stripes to be more green, due to that being the color often sued to represent romantic attraction on other aro-spec flags.[1]
